NCOA: Aging Program Funding

CMS to pass the baton to ACL!

The FY14 budget signed by the President earlier this year officially transferred the State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIPs) from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to the Administration for Community Living (ACL). About two-thirds of the 54 SHIPs are administered by state units on aging, which are overseen by ACL. We’ll keep you posted on when the transition will happen—and how—as soon as we know more.
