NSCLC: 2013 NSCLC Annual Report: We Give Poor Seniors a Voice

From our colleagues at NSCLC:

We are pleased to share the National Senior Citizens Law Center 2013 Annual Report.  We know you share our commitment to providing a voice for the millions of low-income seniors who struggle everyday to meet their basic needs.  The report demonstrates the impact we have had thanks to your partnership and support.
Here are some of the highlights:

  • We partnered with advocates across the country to ensure strong beneficiary protections were included in new programs that will provide health care and long-term services and supports to over one million people with Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligibles).
  • We advanced Congressional legislation that would update the Supplemental Security Income program for millions of poor seniors.
  • We worked with allies to preserve Medicaid-funded home and community-based services for 370,000 seniors and persons with disabilities in California, keeping them at home and out of institutions.
  • We trained over 10,000 advocates and provided over 700 case consultations.

These and many other accomplishments on behalf of America’s poor seniors are only possible because of partners and funders like you. Thank you again for your collaboration, partnership and support.
