Transportation Policy Strategy Session

You are invited to participate in the upcoming Transportation Policy Strategy Session, sponsored by the

Aging and Disability Transportation Network on December 3 (details below).

We will be developing a list of policy and program recommendations that are based, in part, on the results of the first annual Aging and Disability Transportation Report just published by LA Metro.  The Report is available at

Many of you attended the recent Transportation Summit on November 14.  On that day, we examined Metro’s current level of efforts in expanding access to transportation by these underserved communities and also discussed necessary responses to unmet needs.   From the Report and this event, we can see Metro’s current programs as a baseline, a floor rather than a ceiling, for providing critical services.  Clearly, the status quo is insufficient for meeting the transportation needs of older adults and people with disabilities.

We also want input from those of you who were unable to attend the Forum because you have some of the best sources of information, either personal experience or feedback from those who face the challenges of mobility in LA County.  Your perspective is very important.   Metro is expecting recommendations from the Network and its supporters with Metro CEO writing to us a letter in which he welcomed our ideas after the Forum.

We look forward to your participation on:

Date: Tuesday, December 3, 2019

Time: 10 am to noon

Place: The Maldef building at 634 South Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles

If you plan on attending please email Neal Richman at
