Community Volunteers Needed…

The Los Angeles Aging Advocacy Coalition (LAAAC) is starting a new journey and needs you!

LAAAC invites “YOU” to join us in creating an “Aging-friendly Community” that will inform, educate and engage positive changes.

We need YOUR help and YOUR neighbors to join us in making sure the older adults in our community can:

  • Live safely and independently;
  • Stay involved and active;
  • Meet their health and social needs;
  • Maintain a good quality of life.

Q: Why is this so important?

A: A strong home base will help older adults enjoy having a quality of life within our community.

Q: Do I need to be an older adult or a senior to participate?

A: No.

Q: Are there any special requirements?

A: Yes… a simple interest in helping yourself, your neighbor, your community and society at large via community volunteerism!

We welcome all members in the community to join us in making a difference. All we ask is that you are interested in making our community better for older adults and everyone.

Stay alert: the hashtag, #SummitOnAging2017, was developed to further inform, educate and engage the community on aging issues. It is an online forum intended to build connections between the aging community and our allies, to forge joint advocacy efforts, to influence fiscal and public policy in the field of aging, and to facilitate the types of connections necessary to encourage social action and engagement. (i.e. it attempts to identify relevant material online & network with others who wish to live well, feel well and age well in the community).
